It is with great sadness and with grief struck emotions that we wish to pay our tribute to a great Friend of the Forum, Anne-Marie Lizin, Honorary Speaker of the Belgium Senate who has just left us.
She was also President of the Human Rights Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of OSCE.

She was passionate and extremely committed in her numerous combats against discrimination and equal rights for both men and women.

She defended with no limit  the rights of women, she inspired and chaired  over many debates of the African Women’s Forum, a major initiative of the Crans Montana Forum.
She was presented with the Prix de la Fondation, which unites the great today’s leaders of Peace, Liberty and Democracy, and received it by the hands of HSH Prince Albert de Monaco in 2006.

Also, upon her personal request we remitted in March 2013, together with Anne-Marie, the same award to Malala Yousafzaï, a global icon in the fight for girl’s education.
