The Crans Montana Forum is pleased to welcome next June 2015 in Brussels the Transitional President of Burkina Faso, Mr. Michel Kafando.
Burkina Faso is one of the few pillars of the West African stability.
Following the events of October 2014 in Ouagadougou, a transition has emerged that is evolving in the best conditions thanks to an exceptional man, Michel Kafando, sworn in as Transitional President, last November 21, 2014.
Designated by a Committee comprising Representatives of the Army, the opposition and civil society as well as Religious and traditional leaders, Michel Kafando has led this transition and is now preparing the presidential election to be held next November 2015.
National Figure of Burkinabe diplomacy, trained in Senegal, France and Switzerland, the new President was Ambassador of Upper Volta (former name of the Country) then Burkina Faso to the United Nations, respectively in 1981-1982 and 1998-2011. Mr. Kafando was also Minister of Foreign Affairs in several Governments.
During the Crans Montana Forum in Brussels, President Kafando will be presented with the PRIX DE LA FONDATION 2015.
