On the occasion of the forthcoming Crans Montana Forum on Africa
to take place in Brussels (Belgium), March 6 to 9, 2013, a Crans Montana Women’s Forum Special Programme
will be dedicated to “Fighting Poverty and the issue of Malnutrition”
Whilst more than 100 million children under 5 suffer from underweight and every year, malnutrition causes the death of more than 2.5 million of them, many countries, notably in Africa, are facing a deterioration due to the conflicts, their instability or various political deadlocks.
Government Officials, political authorities, technical and financial stakeholders, national, regional and international Organisations, NGOs and the private sector are invited to combine their efforts and find the means allowing to prevent these daily disasters.
First Ladies are particularly welcome since, as Spouses of Heads of State and Government, they play a key role in shaping and implementing policies in the fight against poverty and hunger.
On this occasion, the Crans Montana Forum will launch a major World initiative against Child Malnutrition.
