A beautiful souvenir… Mr. Lech Walesa, Founder of Solidarnosk and President of Poland and Mr. R. Schuster, President of the Slovak Republic are presented with the PRIX DE LA FONDATION by HSH Prince Albert of Monaco during a session of the Crans Montana Forum.

Abdelaziz Bouteflika, immediately after his election in 1999 paid his first two visits abroad to Switerland to attend the Crans Montana Forum and a few months later to Monaco to attend again …the extraordinary session of the Crans Montana Forum taking place in the Principality. His Government was not yet appointed. Around him, a number of "Advisors" – who will become Ministers – were joining intensively all the discussions of the Forum.

On the occasion of this visit, HSH Prince Rainier III invited President Bouteflika to join him  at the Opera for the Gala evening scheduled on the National Day of Monaco.

President Kucan of Slovenia was also among my guests at the Monaco Forum. The three heads of State attended together the Opera.

Bronislav Geremek was among my best and oldest friends. He invited me, Jacques Kosciusko-Morizet and Prince of Liechtenstein to visit Poland a few days after the collapse of communism. He came to Monaco, on the occasion of a very oustanding Forum to be presented with the Prix de la Fondation. Co-founder of Solidarnosk, he remains with Lech Walesa among the builders of the new Democratic Europe.

Federico Mayor, the Director General of UNESCO enlightened the Forum for years ! He has always been among the most brilliant participants !

Une très grande dame dont la tristesse est maintenant infinie après le départ de M. Veil qui l'accompagna à chaque instant de sa belle et si brillante existence…  Elle ne quitte plus guère son appartement de la Place Vauban à Paris.

I am really very happy that, on my personal invitation, she accepted to come to Monaco to be presented with the PRIX DE LA FONDATION by Mr. Stephane Valeri, Speaker of the Parliament.

Mr. François Goulard, Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs of France chaired an important Summit we organized at the Muséee Océanographique de Monaco.
