The first annual session of the Crans Montana Forum, to take place in Crans-Montana (VS-CH), was organized in June 1990.

Thanks to the President of Switzerland, Mr. Jean-Pascal Delamuraz, the real Godfather of our Organization, an extraordinary man joined the meeting : Mr. Pierre Arnold, Chairman of the MIGROS.

Migros is Switzerland's largest retailing company, its largest supermarket chain and largest employer of the country !

Mr. Pierre Arnold has been considered, for years as the most influential businessman in Switzerland. He became a loyal friend of the Crans Montana Forum and helped us a lot. We now miss him…

In Crans Montana, he met with Mr. Alain Decaux, French Minister for Francophony who was representing President François Miterrand for the Opening Ceremony.

I know that they became friends and I was delighted to learn, one year later, that Pierre Arnold was nominated Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur by President Mitterrand.
