March 16, 2018

An exceptional High-Level Panel dedicated to the Ocean Economy and Fishing Industry in Africa is held in Dakhla, in the framework of the Crans Montana Forum on Africa and South-South Cooperation.

Moderated by Mrs. Patricia Ricard, President of the Institut Océanographique Paul Ricard, this High-Level Panel will address crucial topics for ocean governance and the fishing industry, drawing on the example of the Blue Belt Initiative, a South-South integrated regional cooperation and development tool.

As the oceans represent more than two thirds of the surface of our World, it has become a necessity to develop cooperation mechanisms at the highest level, especially as the role of our oceans in the regulation of climate change has recently been proven as crucial.
This major topic for Africa and the rest of the World is discussed by a panel of exceptional Speakers: Mr. James Jenga Duku, Minister of Livestock & Fisheries of South-Soudan, Mr. Abdullahi Omar Abshir, Dep. Minister of Fisheries & Marine Resources of Somalia, Mr. Abdelmalek Faraj, Director of the National Institute of Fisheries Research of Morocco and Mr. Keith Coleman, Founder & Chief Executive Officer of Feed Algae.
